Why don't you take a seat...

Yes, that was a Chris Hansen reference in the title. ;)

As you may have seen from my Project Life post, we have some bench seating going on in our house! Yippie!

I find myself on Pinterest, Houzz and flipping through magazines constantly to draw inspiration for that little corner. It may end up being my Project Life corner since I have no rooms I can dedicate to that...

*crossing my fingers Tyler will miss getting his hands dirty and build me a little craft/wedding shop out back*

yeeeaaaah right! Put that on the HUGE wish list for a 25th Anniversary gift ;)

Anyway, we had to start somewhere and I found this on Houzz as inspiration for the building the back, moulding, beadboard front and hidden seat storage. It was basically everything we needed! We will keep this close as we do the finishing touches.

Now,  here are a few finished corners I just love! I can only hope my house will end up looking 1/2 a great as these do...

We will probably incorporate some of that dark wood finish thats on that table throughout the kitchen. And we are FOR SURE using subway tile in the kitchen like in the picture below, but not behind the bench seating.

I really do love that open ORB (Oil rubbed bronze) light fixture. So many ideas, not enough houses...

Things have started to move along in the last week as far as plumbing and kitchen bids... so stay tuned to the blog to see more updates soon!

Something New

I've started something new and I am in LOVE. It's called Project Life. Basically it's scrap-booking without really scrap booking. Unlike traditional full 12x12 blank pages, these are different designs with pre cut pockets so you can easily slip in say, a 3x4 card, add a little something to it and move on.You can do it week by week(what I chose) or do a whole book of one life event or really whatever you like. It gives you the freedom and simplicity to feel like you have a hold on documenting life.

I decided I was going to get into this around the second week of January and I ordered the Cobalt Edition on Amazon to get started. At first I was super excited when it got here and then realized I didn't much care for the colors in that certain edition. Don't know what I was thinking...Oh well, live and learn.

So, after hitting up Michaels, Walmart (they had cute things surprisingly) Hobby Lobby & my moms scrap-tacular craft room, I got a few more add ons and organized before I started. Oh ,and pinterest had a million free printablse so naturally I 'liked' a million of them and saved some in a folder for later.

Ok enough jibber jabber. 2013 Project Life layouts coming at ya! Week 1-3 (LOTS of pics.. sorry!)

Cover Page

Week 1
Started my running plan and had brunch with some of the cheer gals... Love that we still get together all the time!

Week 2 & 3
Lots of randoms going on...
shopping, house, haircuts, movies and running. Oh and that is Gator the dog in that photo below! How cute is he? He is Sarah's grandpas dog she's been watching if anyone is wondering. They don't have two fur babies yet ;)

Week 3 continued...
My favorite of all so far. Look at my cute nephews!! :)

I am so looking forward to seeing how life progresses over the next 49ish weeks of 2013!

Thanks for reading!

We'll just paint it!

So playing catch up with a few photos... A week before Thanksgiving we went shopping at our second home, Lowes.
We bought a back door! Hallelujah! My dad looks thrilled...

Mom is thrilled over something... maybe she spotted Matthew McConaughey walk by.

I'm so tired of looking at blue boxes I could scream. I bet Tyler is even more tired of looking at them.

Oh and say hey to our fancy new shutters! It's finally looking like a house!!!!!!

On Thanksgiving break, we headed to a junk store in Monticello, where I picked up these gems...

I have big plans for that little froggy! And have you seen the Pantone Color of the year yet?? Love that my jar I picked up is green which I would like to say I fell in love with the color BEFORE pantone came out with their color of the year... EMERALD!
I'm just one step ahead, which never happens to me! ha!

How stinkin' cute are these knobs!

My mom and I love to paint crap. No matter how ugly something is in a store our answer always is, "We'll just PAINT it!"

We did a lot of crackle paint for the wedding. I think we are crackled out for now. On to more solid colors I suppose.

Which brings me to my next dilemma... My front door. It's really hard to pick the right color. Yes, it's an easy change if I really didn't want to be married to it. However, I want to get it right the first time and get onto other fun projects.

So, light linen yellow vinyl with white trim, black shutters and multi red/orange brick on the porch. What to do what to do... I took it upon myself to do a little photoshop work to see the options...

I did these quick and I have actual samples to choose from but any feedback or ideas would help.

What is your vote?

Any other colors you think we should consider?! Emerald perhaps?

I don't think I'm loving any of these right now.... #homeownerproblems
